60 Second Assassin & M-Eighty - Remarkable Timing Interview

Born in Bedstuy, Brooklyn, NY, 60 Second Assassin is a pretty mysterious figure, who's mostly known for his unique dirty style and voice.

His name represents the assassination of negative thoughts, not people. His Sunz of Man's Comrade, Hell Razah explains: "He says everything in one minute. That's why he rhymes the way he does. He assassinates negativity. But before the sixtieth second strikes on the clock, he on me. Actually he goes to the other wall, it places yourself at an advantage, you comin' for something N' he is already there, he already done figured it out before you came with it, basically. But give him sixty seconds which is one minute, he will assassinate something that is negative." His first known appearance on a record was on the late Ol' Dirty Bastard's debut album, where he sang on the promo cut "Dirty N Stinkin" and on "Protect Ya Neck II The Zoo" along with fellow Sunz of Man members Killah Priest, Hell Razah, Shabazz The Disciple and Prodigal Sunn, but his most famous appearance was on Raekwon's album, "Only Built 4 Cuban Linx...", in the song "Glaciers of Ice".

He only sings in the end of the song, but this is where you can find him first say his famous "It's been a looong time..." sentence. He was also featured on numerous projects and collabos amongst all the Sunz of Man's albums. Sunz of Man were the first group ever affiliated with The Wu-Tang Clan amongst Killarmy and Gravediggaz. All active members have gone on to release solo materials except for 60 Second Assassin, and as the title of their first album indicates "The Last Shall Be First " 60 Sec after so many years of of a promised solo album drops his début "Remarkable Timing" featuring the production skills of Bronze Nazareth and a live band with a full guest list Wu fans would die for. This project would not have been possible without the intervention of M-80, the A&R and brain behind releases such as "Think Differently : Wu-Tang meets Indie Culture" The Almighty Project, and much more.

Remarkable Timing has just been released on physical format week, Wu-International caught up wit the 60 Second man for a round the clock interview and also snatched the opportunity to interview one of the busiest and hardest working man in the game right now M-80. Wu-International presents 60 Second Assassin and M-80 on Remarkable Timing (The Interview) , Enjoy!!!

60 Second Assassin - Remarkable Timing Album Review

Full Album Notes]

Release Date:  08th June 2010

Label: Sounds Records/Holy Toledo Productions/101 Distributions

Released Format:
CD / MP3 [Download]

Notes:
Features Hell Razah, Killah Priest, Prodigal Sunn, Shabazz The Disciple, RZA, Bronze Nazareth etc.

When we recently interviewed Bronze Nazareth, we grabbed the chance to ask about his recording experiences with 60 Second Assassin : “Working with 60 was dope. It was fun to see him go through these songs and do his own thing...he knows where he wants to go with a song and goes in with no filter. You can see the family similarities and vibes off ODB coming from him. He’s boundaryless …

Working with a boundaryless artist can be a bit of a gamble, never knowing what the outcome will be: a hit or a miss . All one can do is ( I guess ) just jump on board off the rollercoaster and accept the ride will be adventurous, wild, chaotic or absolutely unique . When you think of the late ODB as the prime example , the hit or miss theory can be perfectly illustrated with the “Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version” on one side and “The Trials and tribulations of Russell Jones” on the other respectively .
While still recording the album, 60 Second stated : “What I’m trying to do is provide a vision to take the listener somewhere that they aren’t being taken right now in music. Check my history and check my status and you will recognize from day one that 60 Sec and Sunz of Man have always taken you to an uncharted and unexplored territory. With this album, I’m gonna show you where I came from, where I’m at now and where I’m going with this music to keep it forward motion. Being a child from the sixties, my goal is to integrate the classic Wu sound that fans are yearning for while expanding upon the soul and jazz elements that came out of the 60’s era”.

So after all these years of living in the shadow of more prolific SOM members and the release getting frustratingly delayed again and again, we finally get the chance to step into 60 Second Assassin’s very own Chamber. Has this album turned out a hit or a miss ? Is 60’s Chamber a remarkable VIP room at the Hilton or rather a shabby little cabinet ? Fingers crossed, as we step to the door and knock to get in and find out . Let’s enter the 62nd Chamber, shall we ?

Darkim Be Allah - King Christ  [Wu-Element Series #7]

Not many know this but while patterning his persona and adopting the name of a “King” (Darkim means King), the man behind Fame Labs was probably the first Wu-Tang Killa Beez to be signed as an artist as well as a producer as part of the production team known as Wu Elements. Sure there was RZA but he doesn’t really count being a founding member of the Clan and Elements. 4th Disciple while part of the Killarmy collective was mainly signed as a producer, and Inspectah Deck on the other hand was probably not signed as a producer as he was also a founding member of Wu-Tang. That leaves Goldfinghaz, True Master and Allah Mathematics...  Goldfinghaz and Mathematics go without saying as it's quite evident they were both signed as producers. True would probably be the only one that might have been signed as an artist as well as producer with Wu-Tang as he did both but peoples first introduction to True was as a producer who sometimes got on the microphone. Darkim pretty much was the opposite as fans knew he was signed as an artist who did beats at times but very few knew he was actually signed as a producer as well as an artist.

Hailing from the Big Apple (New York), Darkim also known as King Christ, got involved with Wu-Tang as part of the production team and as duo in the group A.I.G. along with his rhyme partner Allahwise. Unlike these days where its easy to make beats with the emergence of production tools such as Pro Tools, CuBase etc..  Darkim’s production duties came out of necessity, his great ear for sound and manipulation of it was unique in it's own but sits very well within that gritty New York and Wu premises. This gift ultimately got Darkim to produce the full length album (then titled “Truth or Consequences”) of his group under Wu-Tang records around 1999 that remains unfortunately unreleased to date. Knowledge of his production came to light however when The RZA picked up one of his beats and used it for The Gravediggaz project on the song called “12 Jewelz” off the gold selling album “The Pick, the Sickle and the Shovel”.
With the album in limbo when Wu-Tang records folded under Priority, Darkim went underground for more than 5 years after a couple of internet releases. While away his internet release “Live at the Lab: Take 1” was heavily bootlegged and the genuine albums were getting sold an average of $100.00 ob eBay, leaks were coming out here and there and Darkim’s legend grew and grew on the underground. Wu forums were locked on debates as to the best lyricist within the Killa Beez circle and Darkim’s name would appear in line with the likes of Killa Sin, Timbo King, La The Darkman, Killah Priest and so on. The imaginative and creative MC finally ended the mystery in 2005, resurfacing with a new album and making up for lost time with a critically praised "Fame Labs presents: A.I.G. (Darkim Be Allah & Allahwise)", on his own indie label Fame Labs and the following year saw the official release of several projects from “God In The Ghetto” to “The Manhattan Project”, as well as several singles and online leaks.

With the Wu Element series looking to come to an unfortunate early ending with a no show from True Master and 4th Disciple still in doubt, Wu-International sees it fitting to provisionally end this great series with this gifted wordsmith and beats maker who was also part of that history but has remained somewhat a mystery to few, more like the hidden chamber of the Elements, The King Christ himself, Darkim Be Allah. Even though a wealth of bootlegs, compilation appearances, mixtapes, and Mp3’s surfaced over the years, Darkim’s fans never seem to get enough of his music, as they are eagerly anticipating “Live At The Lab: Take 2, as well as an AIG reunion and a full-length follow up solo album from him. Not many know of his production history and skills which is covered on this exclusive interview as Darkim tells us all about it, his favourite tools and confirms the rumour about his full album collaboration with Krohme. Enjoy!!

Recovering Hell Razah Releases New Single "Kids In The Street"

Brooklyn MC and onetime Sunz Of Man member Hell Razah has kept fans waiting for his sophmore album Heaven Razah for the better part of three years. Now, Nature Sounds announces the first official single from Heaven Razah, "Kids In The Street," which will be available on iTunes, Amazon, and all other digital retailers tomorrow, June 15th. The Ayatollah-produced track showcases the lyrical prowess and growing social awareness of Razah, who had to undergo emergency surgery in April and is currently in recovery. The rapper's family has asked friends and fans to keep Razah in their prayers as they hope for a full and expedient recovery. Proceeds from the single will go directly to Razah's family.

Hell Razah rose to prominence as member of the Wu-Tang-affiliated Sunz of Man, and has since released albums with 4th Disciple, Blue Sky Black Death, T.H.U.G. Angelz and Black Market Militia (his supergroup alongside Tragedy Khadafi, Timbo King, and Killah Priest), as well as his acclaimed 2007 solo LP Renaissance Child. Blending spirituality and street poetry, Heaven Razah explores the balance between Heaven and Hell. "There’s a lot of soul in this album.
It reflects a lot of pain that I went through,” Razah said earlier this year. “Hell Razah means I raise the people from Hell. With this album, I’m bringing them to a mental Heaven." Heaven Razah will be released this fall.

Razah's family is happy to report that the rapper's recovery is going well and is ahead of schedule. Razah still has a long way to go, however, and fans who want to help are encouraged to make donations via Paypal to razahrubiez@gmail.com. All donations will go directly to Razah's family for hospital bills and other health expenses.

Bronze Nazareth - Half Entity Interview [Wu-Element Series #6 ]

The latest additions to the Wu Elements, Bronze hailing from Detroit was given his name and introduced into the Wu-Tang family tree through Cilvaringz. The pair met around  1998, Ringz was impressed by Bronze's work that he added him to his own production team and label Ringz & Partners Inc. with whom Bronze released the internet-only release The Unknown - Death's Birth: The Grip Of Behemoths in 2002. Eventually he was asked by The RZA to join the Wu's in-house team known as Wu Elements with the likes of Moongod Allah, Ringz, Darkim Be Allah, Goldfinghaz, 4th Disciple, Mathematics and Inspectah Deck. Bronze went on to contribute two beats to RZA's solo album Birth of a Prince. Immediately picked up by another Wu entrepreneur,  Dreddy Kruger employed the skills of Bronze to help him set his his then new label and handle most of all of the production duties, this resulted to the classic and highly praised  2005 compilation album Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture, released on Dreddy's  label Think Differently Music. On May 23, 2006 Bronze finally released his first solo album on that label titled The Great Migration to critical acclaim. It featured Wu-Tang Clan affiliates such as Timbo King, Prodigal Sunn and Killa Sin. Teaming up with his group as The Wismen they released "Wisemen Approaching" around 2007 via Babygrande records.  Bronze has gone on to produce for countless established and respected artists from his Wu brethrens like GZA, Masta Killa, to others such as Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, Afu-Ra just to name a few. 2010 saw him doing things differently and with a live band behind him he has recently produced the entire (11 out of 13 songs) off the latest offering from Sunz of Man's 60 Second Assassin's project "Remarkable Timing". Currently finishing the entire album of Timbo King's debute as well as that of his group (The Wisemen) and his solo album "School of the Blindman" album. Wu-International just managed to catch up to this busy bee to find out what the hold up is with the albums, Babygrande's departure, working with 60 Second, Timbo King and others. Salute the kid, Bronze for his skills and work ethics. Enjoy!

4th Disciple - The Resistance In Working Progress

Maybe it’s a vibe hanging in the air but it seems that not only Wu-International is looking back at the legendary Wu-nineties through our Elements series. As already reported Cilvaringz is working on releasing a special “Heavy Mentwo” album with Killah Priest, filled with unreleased tracks and different versions from the stellar “Heavy Mental” recording sessions. Wu fans all around the world are salivating over this and expressing their enthusiasm … thus sparking a possible second project …

Ringz himself has also been toying with the idea of releasing a follow up to his highly sort after "Mental Chamber: Sequel
and in addition to that has been building with 4th about the “Heavy Mentwo”- initiative and suggested doing something  likewise for 4th Disciple. Apparently 4th Disciple has quite an interesting vault from that period according to Ringz: “I personally have visited 4th a couple of times in Ohio at his studio and heard incredible music made by him. From the 2 albums he recorded with Shogun Assasson to Black Knights, Black Brigade, One Man, Raw Intellect, The Orphanage, 12 O'Clock's "Get Some Hate" and of course the infamous Sunz Of Man and Killah Priest songs. In addition, 4th now had a compilation called THE RESISTANCE which features songs recorded over a variety of time periods and had guest appearances from Hell Razah, U-God, RZA, Hoffa, Killah Priest, Trife, Solomon Childs, KrimeLife and even Jim Jones.

4th on the other hand wonders if people would be interested enough in this project to guarantee enough sales and hence make this interesting enough to pursue. Therefore Ringz is thinking about making this a limited release, based on pre-orders. Same as with the Killah Priest project, and has set up a poll on Corp to feel the water so to speak. 4th Disciple will be following the vote and reactions the next days ...

Therefore, Wu-international wants to ask all lifelong Wu-~Tang fans, Killarmy soldiers,  to go to this poll and vote so enable this project to come to life. Show these unique projects the support they deserve … if successful, this might be the start of an amazing series of releases from the Wu-archives!

Like Cilvaringz stated: “If you are a true fan who would like to have these gems then I ask you to show your support and vote. Please share your thoughts as well, just keep it respectful. These projects can now only come to life with the support of us, the true Wu-Tang fans. It's a hefty price for some, but guaranteed quality. Remember, any artist needs to eat.

Wu-Tang members contribute to Inspired Flights Project

In 2009, Indie-rock/hip-hop duo Inspired Flight traveled north to play an after-party at a friend’s house in the Hollywood Hills. As Mira Mesa resident Eric Poline stood at the turntable and Gabe Lehner of Encinitas sang and played guitar, two men came up and asked them to turn up the volume. They did. The men grabbed microphones and started rapping over Inspired Flight’s beats. One of the men introduced himself as Rugged Monk, an MC from Wu-Tang Clan’s West Coast affiliate Black Knights.
“Rugged Monk held it down for an hour. He got in a pretty gnarly [rap] battle with a guy from the East Coast named Propane. It was awesome to watch,” writes Lehner.
Later in ’09, as Lehner and Poline recorded their debut album in Lehner’s home studio, the duo decided to ask rappers to contribute vocals to the mix. A few months later, Rugged Monk agreed to lay down rhymes.
Lehner and Poline drove up to Rugged Monk’s home in L.A., picked up the rapper, and drove him back down to Encinitas to record tracks for their debut We All Want to Fly, a mashup of hip-hop, indie-rock, folk, and jazz.
“We recorded him, treated him to a nice lunch and dinner out, and took him back to Los Angeles all in the same day,” recalls Lehner.
Inspired Flight then hit up Rugged Monk to ask if any Wu-Tang rappers would like to appear on the record.
“Rugged Monk put me on the phone with Inspectah Deck, [who] gave me his manager’s number and told me to call it the next day and said, ‘We’ll make this happen,’ ” writes Lehner, who says he’s been listening to Wu-Tang Clan since he was in junior high in Vista. “We ended up getting a rap verse that is perfect for our song .

Cilvaringz - Readies The Sequel To Mental Chambers

Remember the MP3.com days? Remember one of the few innovative Wu artists at that time to use the internet to release underground albums such as "Ten Tigers of Kwantung" or "The All Star Collection Box"? On our recent Wu -Elements series interview with Cilvaringz "Inside The Mental Chambers Interview " he expressed he was not interested in releasing any of his old material again to the disappointment of his fans, however he did not say anything about not releasing anything else, and while he has been busy pushing for the release of Killah Priest's Heavy Mentwo, another sequel, he has decided to release the sequel to the heavily bootlegged and rare album  "The Mental Chambers".

The Mental Chambers - The Sequel will contain 24 beats that were initially created for the Clan members over the years that were never used, Ringz is speculating to release it either on a physical or MP3 format depending on which format the fans prefer and has set up a thread on WuTangCorp for people to vote for preferred format of release.

Goldfinghaz - Gold The Deal Maker Interview [Wu-Element Series #5 ]

This is for those that slept, or rather those that doubted, this is for those who are behind the scenes and are as important a factor to the success of any project which would turn out differently otherwise, this is for those who have worked hard but have been forgotten by the mainstream but thankfully not by the real fans.

Wu-International published the 3rd Wu-element interviews on the site some weeks back and The Rebel INS aka Inspectah Deck was our special guest and it got fans talking again about how important the Elements were to the Wu movement, it got fans speculating a Wu-Massacre type collaboration between Deck, GZA/Genius and Masta Killa and even got newer fans wondering why some fans fussed over a silent deadly weapon behind the Wu known as the producer, DJ and engineer Goldfinghaz.

Was he an Element? Where has he been? Which songs did he produce? As pointed out on the intro, this is for those that slept or doubted; Goldfinghaz was one of the originalsand among the first producers to be signed as part of Wu-Tang Productions / Wu - Elements, he began his career as DJ Scottie Deep, and holds experience spanning over 17 years. Goldfinghaz as he was later and commonly known, began a career in the music industry while attending college in Michigan. The love of music inspired him to start an independent record label at the age of 19. As an artist, producer, Dj, art director, publicist, distributor, marketer and accountant, Finghaz sharpened his expertise in the art of negotiating, global distribution, and producing records.

After moving to New York from Detroit, at age 22, he established solid-working relationships with major label executives which afforded him the opportunity to record over 25 dance records for various labels. Finghaz coordinated and oversaw international VIP events travelling to Zurich, Pisa, Rome, Paris and London as “Dj Scottie Deep” allowing him to Dj in some of the best night clubs on the face of the earth. While working and building with The RZA of the almighty Wu-Tang Clan, Goldfinghaz signed with Wu Tang Productions as a premier producer for Wu-elements in 1997. His production and sound become well recognized and in high demand. Due to the overwhelming response and reception to his production of his infamous beats, Scott landed “Brooklyn Beats” as a song placement in the 1996 Hollywood motion picture The Juror.

Goldfinghaz has worked with major gold and platinum artists such as Wu-Tang Clan, Gravediggaz, Capadonna, Black Knights, Kelis, Sweetback, Snoop Dogg just to name a few. Scott is a 2004 MTV VMA nominee for work he has done with Snoop Dogg as well as a Grammy Award nominee for the work he has done on the 1997 Wu-tang Forever project and a Spike TV Video Game Soundtrack of the year winner for the True Crimes- Streets of LA video game. He is also responsible for securing publishing deals with BMG and has been awarded several Gold and Platinum Awards along with other prestigious music awards for his productions.

So what has he been doing since his Wu days? Goldfinghaz, real name Scott Kinchen is the co-founder, and president of Ambition Management Group which is a full service management company, that exclusively represents; Recording Artists, Record Producers, Songwriters and Actors.
Through a life changing experience, he has now dedicated his life to transforming Contemporary Christian and Gospel music into a powerhouse through the combination of season expertise and the drive to increase the visibility of Contemporary Christian and Gospel music.

Having interviewed the likes of Inspectah Deck, Cilvaringz, and Moongod Allah it is only fitting to find out what the real Gold deal has been up to, the fans wanted to find the whereabouts of Black Knights album he produced? did he actually discover Kelis? Is he still down with Wu-Tang? Has he quit the game all together? get all your curiousity killed by the man himself, Wu-International presents you Gold The Deal Maker: Wu-element's own Gold maker, Goldfinghaz. Enjoy...

Killah Priest - Plans To Release Songs Left Off Of  Heavy Mental [Heavy Mentwo]

If it is tradition for most rap albums to have left over unreleased songs, then it is part of Wu-Tang’s DNA to have a large amount of unreleased songs to albums. This is nothing new for eager fans who usually get their hands on leaks or hear it via the grapevine before it is released or rather unreleased due to perhaps label or artist’s problems, un-cleared samples, internal issues or whatever the case may be, a lot of songs planned for a specific album never gets released, and if lucky might get released in years to come or leaked on the net as mp3.
Think of a classic Wu album you would most likely love to hear the songs that were left out or lost for one reason or the other... Could it be Gravediggaz “Niggamortiz” album or Wu-Tang’s “Demo albums”? how about Killah Priest’s “Heavy Mental”?

Cilvaringz and Killah Priest are currently bouncing off the idea of releasing the unreleased songs from the Heavy Mental recording sessions, not to be confused with the Heavy Mental 2 currently talked about by Priest himself. This Heavy Mentwo will include all

exclusive unreleased songs with 4th Disciples, that some fans have heard but were in bad quality and a lot most have not heard. Plus additional songs with True Master (including the original version of “Cross my heart” with a RZA verse instead of Inspectah Deck), the original version of BIBLE produced by The RZA, songs with Y-Kim, Q-Base, John The Baptist and possibly features from his Sunz of Man comrades and Wu-Tang Clan members.

Hold that thought though, this seems to be an idea cooked up by Cilvaringz and Killah Priest. Should there be a high demand for this then it will be mastered and released professionally with new artwork and cover. Priest wants to see how many people are interested and has set up a poll at Wutangcorp to see if it is worth releasing this or not. Please click on that link to cast your vote or send us an email so we can forward it to Cilvaringz or Killah Priest.

Wu-Tang Clan To Headline and Revisit "36 Chambers" At Rock The Bells 2010

Legendary rap collective the Wu Tang Clan will return as headliners of the touring Rock the Bells hip hop festival and perform its debut album, “Enter the 36 Chambers,” in its entirety. The 4-date tour kicks off on Aug. 21 in Los Angeles and includes stops in New York City, Mountain View, Calif. and Columbia, Maryland.

Other rap luminaries set to perform classic albums from start to finish at Rock the Bells include Rakim doing "Paid in Full", KRS-One doing Boogie Down Production's "Criminal Minded" and Slick Rick revisiting "The Great Adventures of Slick Rick." Other artists on the bill are Street Sweeper Social Club (the collaboration between The Coup's Boots Riley and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello), Murs & 9th Wonder, Wiz Khalifa and Clipse, among others.

An internet rumor that Lauryn Hill, the reclusive, Grammy-winning former member of the Fugees, would be one of the festival's headliners and perform her only major solo album, "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill," in its entirety, was not borne out by the festival announcement, but the event's website promises "Surprise Performances."

Release Date: 04th May 2010

Label: Clear Label Records/Bombarder Productions

Released Format:
CD / MP3 [Digital Download]

Notes:

Warghosts aka Bomshot and Holocaust … not what one would call mainstream artists or controversy free mc’s . In fact it’s safer to say that these two are amongst the most heavily discussed underground mc’s out there nowadays. Both are also the “love ‘em or hate em “ type of cats. Check any rap forum where these two are discussed and you get an extremely varied range of viewpoints about their styles . Bomshot comments go from “being the shit” to “being shit” while Holocaust is puked out by some as “an offbeat nutcase” and heralded as “the most underrated genius behind the mic ever” by others …

Mathematics - The Math Files Interview [Wu-Element Series #4 ]

Mathematics or Allah Mathematics is Wu-tang's official DJ and also main producer as part of the Wu-element's, this is the man that the Clan members be it solo or as a group turn to when going on tour or when they want that classic Wu sound. A well rounded artist, Mathematics does not just produce, DJ, mix or manage new acts, he was also responsible for drawing the original "W" logo, drew the artwork for GZA's Liquid Swords album, and written the theme and additional music for Wanda Sykes' television show, Wanda at Large.

Born Norman Porter in south-side Jamaica, Queens, Mathematics was exposed to hip-hop culture at an early age. His older brother brought home mixtapes of Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Treacherous Three, Cold Crush Brothers, and others jamming at area block parties. There were no double tape decks at the time, so Mathematics and his brother made copies by pushing two boom boxes together, one playing and one recording.

The future producer originally thought of himself as an MC and imitated Spoonie Gee, Melle Mel, Kool Moe Dee, and other favourites, but a realization that it was the DJ who controlled the tempo and flow changed everything. Influenced by early greats like Grandmaster Flash, Grand Wizard Theodore, and DJ Charlie Chase, he started DJing block parties in the '80s while his brother hooked him up with future Wu-Tang member GZA/Genius. GZA was working with the Cold Chillin' label and needed a DJ, but this was only the beginning of Mathematics' Wu-Tang association.

GZA's family lived around the corner from Mathematics, and one day GZA called the young DJ to go to Queens and watch his cousin shoot a video. The video was for "Ooh I Love You Rakeem" by Prince Rakeem, and Mathematics was shocked to find out Prince Rakeem was actually an old friend, RZA. Over time, RZA taught Mathematics all he knew about production, like how to use samplers and how important it is to have your own voice. At the time, the copyright rules for sampling stated that if you kept a sample under three seconds you didn't have to get label clearance. To avoid seeking clearance, Mathematics sped up old soul records and created a sound that has since become widely imitated. "Wu Banga 101" from Ghostface Killah's
Supreme Clientele, "Rules" from the Wu's Iron Flag, and un-credited work on "Must Be Bobby" from RZA's  Bobby Digital: Digital Bullet, and recently the Wu-Massacre project  by Method Man, Raekwon and Ghostface Killah are some of Mathematics' major contributions to the Wu world amongst others.

In 2003, Mathematics released his first full-length,
Love, Hell & Get Right (Da Come Up) on his own Quewisha Records label in conjunction with High Times Records, which was followed up by The Problem, Wu-Tang Clan & Friends Unreleased, and Return Of The Wu & Friends in 2005, 2007 and 2010 respectively.

A creative force behind Wu and hip-hop in general, Mathematics has been busy touring, producing, putting together mixtapes, radio shows, his Mathfiles blog's and a list of other side projects only this man can do. In continuation with the Wu-elements series haven chopped it up with Inspectah Deck on

[11th. May. 2010] New Update:

Inspectah Deck - The Manifesto Of A Rebel Interview [Wu-Element Series #3 ]

Just like any burgeoning culture, hip-hop is inundated with corruptions and false promises. Lately, the MCs in commercial leadership are too busy basking in their new found riches to uplift the starving streets that supported their talent in the first place. But while the false prophets are shopping at Chanel and sipping Cristal, there's a growing number of MCs that are dead set on pulling hip-hop music out of its' fantasy rap mode and back into potent reflections of real life.

As a member of one of the most significant musical collectives in recent history, Inspectah Deck of the Wu-Tang Clan has never fallen victim to the ill powers that be. Also know as Rebel INS, Deck was one of the featured rappers on many of the Wu Tang Clan's major hits like Triumph, C.R.E.A.M., Pinky Ring and more, and just like any gracious minded veteran, the Staten Island raised MC is primed to supply the street's demand for real live hip-hop on his latest offering "Manifesto" that was released just in March. The album ( featuring Raekwon, MOP, Cormega and others) was given a 4/5 ratings on this site and marks Deck's return to his production duties.

On the heels of dropping his fourth LP, Inspectah Deck is also readying the release of his first instrumental album. Unknown to most, Deck has been making beats and hits for over 15 years now, first learning how to piece tracks together from his group's mastermind The RZA, and crew affiliates DJ Mathematics and True Master. Deck soon started experimenting and his efforts showed enough promise to make him an official member of the original almighty production team and collective known as Wu-elements, alongside The RZA, 4th Disciple, True Master, and Mathematics. From then on we saw him gradually placing his beats on just about every Wu-Tang release from his fellow clansmen except the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, including songs for Ghostface’s "Supreme Clientele", Method Man’s "Tical" and RZA’s "Bobby Digital in Stereo", along with his own solo albums and outsides projects such as the "Tales from the hood" soundtrack and lately his new protégé Fes Taylor.

Wu-International started a Wu-elements series of interviews a couple of months ago and it is only right we have an interview with one of the Clan's founding member and producer The Rebel INS. The fans will get to hear how he got into producing tracks and people he has produced for, his latest offering "Manifesto", the beef with Joe Budden, his supposedly 2Pac collaboration, upcoming projects (from movies, books to the long awaited Rebellion album) and everything else he has been involved in lately, ... in the words of Guru (R.I.P), and long-time friend of Deck, we say "Respect the Architect" , Enjoy...

[10th. May. 2010] New Update:

The RZA's "The Man With The Iron Fist" Film Picked Up By Universal

The RZA's various extra-curricular interests are well-documented. Aside from producing Hip Hop albums, The Abbot has scored movies like Ghost Dog and Kill Bill, acted in films such as Derailed and American Gangster. RZA has even dabbled in painting.

Now, RZA will see another project of his come to fruition. According to firstshowing.net, The Man With the Iron Fist, a movie which the producer wrote with Eli Roth, will be picked up by Universal, who will finance and distribute the project.

The movie, which will be a "stylized martial arts film," will star RZA as a blacksmith in a village in feudal China. RZA will also direct and score the film.

"While I was away shooting Inglourious Basterds, RZA went to China to shoot test footage on his own, with all the choreography," explained Roth, who wrote, produced and direct the Hostel series. "It was very visual and I think he will bring to life a script that mixes Kung Fu with a spaghetti western mindset and a Hip Hop influence. RZA has imagined every tribe, every fighting style, every costume," continued Roth. "He knows Kung Fu like I know horror."

Filming for The Man With the Iron Fist is expected to begin later this year.

The Return of Killarmy

For years, there have been whispers of a Killarmy reunion...Whispers that at times seemed like nothing more than wishful thinking dreamt up by nostalgic fans who refused to accept that the era of grimey, militant hip-hop was over. Half the members of the group never seemed to be able to stay out of prison, and those that did often and mysteriously chose to stay out of the spotlight. For almost a decade, fans have patiently waited for a follow up to 2001's excellent "Fear, Love & War", (a criminally slept on album that unfortunately coincided with the collapse of Loud Records, and therefore never got the push it deserved). Well, it seems now that the wait is over! Die-hard fans will finally have their thirst for that militant shit quenched this year, as the seminal collective known as Killarmy will be releasing their much anticipated fourth group effort later this year. The triumphant return kicks off in June with the premier of "The Sound of Gunz", a Bronze Nazareth laced masterpiece which will reintroduce the world to "The 6 Man Wetting". There is also an accompanying video in the works to provide the visual thrills. Look for a big announcement from Killarmy coming very soon. ILLegit Recordz  have been told directly that production duties will be handled by all of the Wu-Elements' heavy hitters: RZA, True Master, Allah Mathematics, 4th Disciple & Bronze Nazareth. Also, there will be guest shots from Clan members, as well as Killa Beez. This album is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Wu-related projects of all time. Keep up with 9th Prince and Dom Pachino on twitter for the latest information on this exciting development!

The RZA To Produce GZA/Genius's "Liquid Sword II"

Raekwon’s Only Built For Cuban Linx II may have inspired another Wu Tang sequel.

RZA, the architect of the Wu Tang sound, has announced that he’ll be producing the next installment of the GZA’s Liquid Swords, which is largely considered a classic album.

RZA made the announcement via Twitter.

“It's True: "Liquid Swords 2" Produced by the Abbott RZA coming fall 2010. Who's ready for the Wu? Bong, Bong!"

Liquid Swords is the 1995 second album from the GZA, but the first during his tenure as a leader in the Wu Tang Clan.

Last year Raekwon released Only Built For Cuban Linx II and the opus was met by worldwide accolades.

No release date has been announced for Liquid Swords 2.

As always with the Wu, the saga continues. As indicated, Wu-International presents the 2nd installment of the Wu Elements series. What better Element to follow up Moongod (aka Dr Moon’s) interview than his friend and partner in rhyme/beats Cilvaringz? 9th Prince - Revenge of the 9th Prince Album Review

[Full Album Notes]

Release Date: 20th April 2010

Label: Wu Music Group

Released Format:
CD / MP3 [Digital Download]

Notes:
Featured Artists: Shyheim, Killarmy, RZA, Killah Priest, Boy Jones, Thea etc

Revenge of the 9th Prince” … an album announced long time ago ( long ago as in “Check inlay of the Granddaddy Flow album/2003” -long ago ) and now finally here.
2 announcements about this album had me hyped for a while now:
- The fact the album was entirely produced by one person only ( which always scores good points in my book) : a certain BP who 9th called a “crazy talented white dude” . After hearing “I will rise” with the surprising but very effective Tom Jones sample , he certainly had me interested in the rest of the beats for this album. Just listening to 9th’s previous solo albums, we know he has an ear for picking good beats, so nothing but high expectations for the BP beats !..........

Inspectah Deck - To Release An Instrumental Album

On the heels of dropping his fourth LP, Manifesto, Inspectah Deck is readying the release of his first instrumental album. XXLMag.com recently sat down with The Rebel INS to speak on his production work and his new, as-yet-untitled disc.

The Wu-Tang MC has been making beats for over 15 years, first learning how to piece tracks together from group mastermind Rza, and crew affiliates DJ Mathematics and True Master. “I been doing production since about the first album, but I wasn’t really serious with it, I was just more or less experimentin’, watchin’ Rza do what he does,” he said. Deck eventually got placements on just about every Wu-Tang release from his fellow clansmen except the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard, including songs for Ghostface’s Supreme Clientele, Method Man’s Tical and Rza’s Bobby Digital in Stereo, along with his own solo albums.

Now, Inspectah Deck is prepping a collection of new beats for aspiring rappers to test their skills on. “I’ll have something for you within two or three months,” he revealed.

The Manifesto, which features appearances by Raekwon, Cormega, Billy Danze of M.O.P., among others, is in stores now

Moongod Allah - The Dutch Master Interview [Wu-Element Series #1]

Did the Wu fall off after "Wu-Tang Forever"? Most fans still argue about the direction Wu took after “Wu Tang Forever” nailed artistic and commercial triumph. Ego’s / visions collided and a series of disappointing, mediocre albums followed. All things go in cycles, and regardless of the fall from mainstream, Wu has managed to maintain its cult following as diehard fans have stuck with them through out the public fall out, disappointing or shelved albums. Optimism began creeping in with the release of Masta Killa's "No said date", hailed as a classic and the return of Wu, this indie album must have been the spark of it all as it served as an indication that sooner or later the Wu would get things back together, sharpen their swords and show the hip-hop world who really held the crown. Masta Killa kept it simple, used the same ingredient that the Wu have been using with a modern twist to it, Family affairs or rather "Fam members only", NSD boasted mostly and solely in house production and featured members.
Last two years fans and artists alike started using the term “Wu Renaissance” especially with a solid release from GZA/Genius (Protools) the highly anticipated “Only built for Cuban linx “ by Reakwon and a list of others from Ghostface, Inspectah Deck, Wu-Massacre and surprisingly U-God astonished most skeptic fans with Dopium.

One component that‘s been mostly lacking in this exultant return to form is the legendary Wu Elements. For the non Wu fans or Wu comers (New comers) who have never heard this term before, The Wu-Elements were the constant production team responsible for the bulk if not all of all the Wu releases since they started out in the game. The elements were the backbone of the Wu movement, Fronted by The RZA, the elements had 4th Disciple, True Master, Allah Mathematics, Inspectah Deck (Yes he makes beats too, or used to), and the latest and last additions Cilvaringz, Moongod Allah and Bronze Nazareth.

The RZA has been scoring movies, self producing and still contributing to countless Wu-tang Clan and Killa Beez projects.
Off course DJ and producer of the Wu, Mathematics has also been active with his compilations as well as dishing out darts for his Wu brethren’s projects.
Probably the busiest of them all next to RZA is Bronze Nazareth, last 2 years has seen this beat specialist contributing to some of the greatest records and albums made within the Clan and outside…. but where are the rest?
4th Disciple has inspired a host of new breed of producers and has contributed maybe 10 songs since his duo album with Hell Razah, few of his releases have been from his archives as far as new materials have been concerned...
True Master, who had a very solid but rather small input throughout the Wu catalogue, provided even less material last decade, (some songs for Masta Killa and one for GZA) with rumors of him doing a full collabo album with the legendary KRS-One as well a solo album that has been completed but not released to date...
What ever happened to Moongod Allah, the producer from Cilvaringz camp or was it Ringz that was from Moonlight camp? Either way this once disciple of GZA and The RZA made waves with internet releases and sharp beats that gained him a lot of fans quick and just like that vanished off the face of the earth apparently.. . Fans all over the world been wondering where he is…
The Rebel INS has not produced to our knowledge for almost 6-8 years now, but seems to have gotten back to it with the release of his latest album “Manifesto”,
Last but not least, Cilvaringz, who dropped a stellar debut album, getting critical acclaim amongst Wu fans but that has already been 3 years now and no sign of a follow-up, with rumors of him retiring on the mic and maybe focusing on just productions?

For a team of producers that should be in the lime light along side the likes of Kanye West, Just Blaze and co, these elements have been pretty passive apart from the few mentioned above, Wu-international decided to get a Wu elements interview series going and search and find (those possible) on what they have been up to, current work and the whole nine yard.

Who else better to set this series off with other than the harder to find and highly sort after legendary Dutch producer “Moongod”. Last known of his whereabouts was that he has quite the rap game and no amount of money would bring him back and he was settled in a country side or so. Lots of fans loved his refreshing production style on albums from Cilvaringz “I” to Most High Brothers, Lin Brotherz, the Henchmen and his own 2 cult “Tiger” classics . Was “The return of the ten tigers” indeed his last album in 2002 ? Has he stopped making music ? Where is he now and why is he so silent?? Why don’t we find that out from the horse’s mouth? Yes, Wu-International dug deep and caught up with the actual Dutch master and he has not only answered all the fan’s questions, he has been kind enough to leak an exclusive unreleased song from the Iron Empire project to Wu-International featuring Tekitha, Cilvaringz, Ganz and Magpie from the Moonlight days. Enjoy the read … and be on the lookout for the next installment of our Wu Elements interview Series!!

So the Wu Massacre finally dropped. There’s been a lot of talk amongst Wu fans about this project ranging from excited euphoria about these 3 finally working together to low expectations after rumors off the album being rushed by Def Jam. Def Jam certainly played their cards out right to stir up excitement giving us very dope artwork, different variations in the front cover with each of the 3 mc’s solo on the cover, Limited Edition Numbered Lithographs when pre-ordering at FYE, leaking about ¾ off the tracks in the months before the album dropped, managing to clear a Michael Jackson sample for “Our dreams”, … Another heavily discussed aspect was the rather short track list: only 12 tracks , 2 skits though so basically 10 songs . Add this all together and you get a big hype amongst Wu fans, huge anticipations and the big question: “Will this be worth our money or will we get disappointed ???”.......

The year was 1998. The First round of Wu Solo albums was completed and followed by the stellar Double album “Forever”. Hip Hop was still recovering from these uppercuts and RZA unleashed another stash of hidden gems: “The Swarm”. Killa Bees stung hip hop heads all over the globe again leaving everyone wondering just how big this jar of Shaolin talent was .
One of the most remarkable tracks certainly was Wu Syndicate’s “Where was heaven”. A buzz quickly arose and got even bigger next year when Wu Chronicles Vol I dropped where they smacked us in the face with “Latunza hit”. A month later their self titled debut was released, an instant classic and then … nothing. Back in the day, I didn’t have internet to tell me what happened to these cats so I thought they just folded … a shame.
But then a few years ago, we got the joe Mafia solo, a Syndicate mixtape, name changes and rumors of beef between Napoleon and Mya. Then came proof that Mya and Mafia had joined forces again, even taking up the Wu Syndicate name......

[12th. March. 2010] New Update:

Boy Jones - B'arson Unique The Young Dirty Bastard Interview

Boy Jones ........... Brooklyn born, Barson Unique Jones - grew up under the influence of nine legendary hip-hop emcees known to the world as Wu Tang Clan. One of the founders and leaders of the group was his father, Russell Jones – the late great & beloved Ol' Dirty Bastard, his cousins were GZA, the wordsmith of the group and The RZA, the producer of the multiplatinum super group. Jones had mostly remained on the sideline as an admirer of the music being created by his family. But one day at nine years old of age, his father called him to perform verses on his song “Shimmy Shimmy Ya”, at the world famous Apollo stage in Harlem. From that day forward he always felt an urge to perform. His father thought he was just playing games when he would ask to go in the booth to record and would always respond by telling his son “you cant rap.” Barson decided to form a group with a friend called “Bang Out” at the age of sixteen and began to further develop his writing and performing skills. Convinced by Jones’ years of determination and focus, RZA decided to give him a shot in the booth. That trial effort gained Boy Jones the official stamp of approval when his first recording was later released on an official Wu Tang production. To top it all off, Rza signed Boy Jones to his Wu Music Group record label in the spring of 2009.

Boy Jones raps with a unique freestyle flow and has an unorthodox writing style. He made a lasting impression to music lovers all over the country when he joined the original members of Wu Tang Clan on the Rock The Bells tour. Boy Jones was a natural as he entertained crowds of up to 70,000 fans. His crazy and high energy performances instantly became a hit, and when he performed his father's classics like "Shimmy Shimmy Ya" and "Brooklyn Zoo", the crowds went absolutely bananas!! The fact that he looks and sounds exactly like his father doesn’t hurt either. Boy Jones has been featured on Lord Jamar's  “5 Percent” album, and RZA’s soundtracks for “The Protector” and “Afro Samurai”. He was featured in XXL magazine and interviewed by BET at the 2008 BET Hip Hop Awards. He is currently working on his first solo music project and looking at various touring opportunities. He recently dropped his first single before the end of the year and release his album in the spring of 2010. Not limiting himself to music only, Boy Jones is also interested in film & television projects as well as licensing and endorsement deals. He’s also eagerly awaiting an upcoming documentary and possible feature film on the life of Ol’ Dirty Bastard. When he’s not in the studio, Boy Jones enjoys giving back to the community. Having witnessed the devastating affects of drugs first-hand, he’s interested in speaking to teens about the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. While he might be known within the Wu fans circle he has not properly been introduced, hence Young Dirty Bastard gets online to chat with Wu-International and answer some of the questions the fans have for him. Enjoy...
