Interview
|

The past couple of
weeks we have seen Rasul Allah and Cosmic Crusader talk about The
Lost Children of Babylon's new album "Zeitgeist: The Spirit Of The Age",
their previous work, the formation of the group, its current
members and their future projects to its world wide affiliations, LCOB
Productions and basically everything the fans wanted to know in
regards to the group.
LCOB is renowned
for pushing spirituality and esoteric teachings to a higher
level hardly
experienced or explored by any other group within hip-hop
before and that's an area that we have yet to explore in detail
since the beginning of our current LCOB interview series. A number of fans wanted to
know what
Nuwaubu was all about, why LCOB uses some of these
teachings in their lyrics, the groups constant reference to
Egypt and its mythologies, the relationship between these topics
and politics and much more. So who better to ask about all these
theories and interests than one of the members of LCOB
themselves.
This week's guest is Atun Sen Geb. Atun joined the
group after a chance meeting with Rasul while cutting his hair,
and as
great minds think alike, it was not long before Rasul brought
Atun into the LCOB mix and Atun has gone on to record as a
member of the group on their albums as well as releasing a
couple of mixtapes last year with another one planned for this
year and a solo project in motion.
The third week of
The Lost Children of Babylon interview series sees Atun Sen Geb
breaking down his personal experiences within the music industry,
rational behind some of LCOB lyrics and topics, his take on
spiritualism, Obama, conspiracy, facts and much more... Enjoy!! |
I like to say thanks first and foremost for
taking the time to answer these questions, highly
appreciated, and will also point out that nothing will be
altered, edited or changed when this is published online.
Wu-International: Peace Atun, How are you?
Atun Sen Geb: Peace I’m doing my best, and yourself?
Wu-International: Good, thanks, Can you please
introduce yourself and tell us where you are from, your
affiliations etc?
Atun Sen Geb: I am Atun Sen Geb and I am from the
Abannaki Region of Shaykhamexum. Peace to the Nuwaubian
nation and The I.S.I.S. Massive!
Wu-International: How did you become a member of LCOB?
Atun Sen Geb: I was dwelling in the Southern chamber
of Illadelf when I encountered Rasul Allahu. We immediately
met on the level of emcee and formed a bond. I gave him a
few haircuts, he introduced me to the LCOB, we did a few
shows together and then I was initiated into the LCOB ranks.
Wu-International: What were you doing prior to LCOB,
where you a soloist or in a group?
Atun Sen Geb:
I’d been rhyming since
’95, but I hadn’t recorded any complete projects until 2002.
My original crew was the S.I.N. Souljahs where my sword was
sharpened. We recorded a few mix tapes, Soloman’s Cult,
along with an artist named Karl Kavorkian. However, business
got a little fishy, and the winds of heaven separated us;
that’s when I moved into the LCOB circle.
Wu-International: What is the full meaning of Atun
Sen Geb and why do you go by that?
Atun Sen Geb:
My
name is a Tamarean or Egiptian name given to me by the
master, Amunnubi Reakh Ptah. It means, the unique son of Geb.
Geb is the Neter of earth and time and may be represented by
the goose; which is very befitting of myself since in Native
American lore the Goose is the totem animal for those born
in Capricorn such as me. Atun is one of the 3 aspects of the
sun god RE or RA. This lets you see where Old Dirty, RIP,
got his original attribute Asun Unique from; he was alluding
to Atun which is classified as the unique sun.
Wu-International: Has this always been your name or
did you adopt it after your spiritual birth, and if so what
were you known as before?
Atun Sen Geb:
Yea after one enters a
certain religion or spiritual order; they often gain a new
attribute or name to represent this new birth. This is why
the master gave me this name. Before this I was known as
Scizzahands as I am a barber and on the mic I slice thru all
that bullshit to shine through; kinda like the clippers
cutting through all the split ends and kinks to give you
that fresh look.
Wu-International: From your name, music and group
affiliation, it is safe to assume that you following the
Nuwabian teachings, can you please tell us more about this
and what attracted you to Dr. York’s teachings?
Atun Sen Geb:
I mean you reach a certain age on this earth when you just
want to know what’s beyond here; whether consciously or
subconsciously. For me I wasn’t really looking for it but
the information just showed up out of the blue and I
immediately resonated with it. I was walking my regular
route and I stumbled upon a book stand where I saw a book
called Mission Earth. I bought it and read it and was
mystified by it. From there I spent a lot of time studying
the teachings and building with other gods from the
Nuwaupian Cult and other realms of life. I hope that Dr.
York is free soon as possible! He is, in my opinion, the
strongest teacher we have in the community and I don’t want
to see him die in that cell. But if he does, woe to the
conspirators that had a hand in putting him there!
Wu-International: It’s been described as not
a religion but a collection of religious teachings and
esoteric cosmology, is this something everyone can study or
get into or is it restricted to a particular type, gender,
race etc?
Atun Sen Geb: Everyone can learn from the
teachings because for the most part it’s all factual
information. You may not like it but it’s factual. It’s good
for those of Nubian or Aboriginal descent to study because
for a large portion of time in this country we were unaware
of Ourstory. We aren’t taught that our bloodline or ancestry
were the great Architects of ancient Egipt. Most of us just
know that we were slaves working in a hot ass field picking
cotton, watching Massa rape our wives and daughters; shit
probably our sons too! However, truths have been revealed
that our story goes back much further than that and we were
also inhabitants of this land of America long before
Christopher Columbus discovered it. Yes everyone can learn
something from Nuwaubu.
Wu-International: Thanks, so do you follow other
doctrines or teachings such as that of the Nation of the
Gods and Earths, Nation of Islam or Moorish Science Temple
etc?
Atun Sen Geb:
Yes I started out learning my 120 lessons and listening to
Farrakhan speak. I didn’t learn about Moorish Science too
much until I was a little older, but it’s very relevant to
our status in this country and internationally.
Wu-International: So what are your views on religion?
Atun Sen Geb:
Religion is a good thing for those who need it. It can be
confining in that sometimes you can’t accept another person
because of their religious views. I believe that we can all
learn from each other; however there are some religions that
serve as opposing forces to my way of life. We have been
instructed on how to deal with them accordingly.
Wu-International: Interesting, so does the year 2012
signify or mean anything to you?
Atun Sen Geb:
Well there’s a collective
consciousness being built around this date, December 21,
2012, that it’s a Doomsday date. However what’s not
doomsdayish about the here and now? I think we’re living in
the Dooms day part right now! When 2012 comes there will be
a split in dimensions; where all the spiritual beings will
live in one dimension, and all the 85ers will be in the
other. This I read in a book called Inanna Returns, and it
sounds about right to me. At least I hope there’s a
Doomsday! The system needs to be brought down and dissolved,
and from there we can build a true Republic. You can learn
more on this at
www.wetheaboriginalpeople.com
Wu-International: We saw a poster of Obama
illustrated as the anti-Christ on LCOB some time back, can
you please tell us the rationale behind that picture and
what your thoughts are about Obama as first black president?
Atun Sen Geb:
We have that up there as
a sort of warning not to put your faith in Obama; he’s just
the President, he’s not Christ! Many people are so in awe
that here’s a Black man in the seat, they put themselves in
a false delusion that he’s almost like Christ, he’s going to
fix all of our problems! So we have that image up there to
wake people up from that delusional state and refocus them
on the real “Christ” who is coming back, but in our minds
first by being Christ like or doing the work that Christ
did. Although we know him by another name.
Wu-International: Ok, spiritual leader, Dr. Malachi
York is currently serving time for child abuse, do you think
he was set up by the system or actually did it, what are
your thoughts on this?
Atun Sen Geb:
Actually he’s serving
time for child molestation and racketeering. You have to see
a documentary entitled "Mysteries Behind Closed
Doors", which breaks down the case. I think he was set up by
infiltrates of the Nuwaubian Nation. Every large
organization that Black people have created in this country
have been infiltrated and sought to destroy. This is common
knowledge. It has been stated that his own son Jacob York
cooperated with the FBI in bringing his father down.
Wu-International: Thanks for those answers, lets get
back to the music, the group structure has changed since it
first started, we know of Amun leaving, and Rasul gave us
new line up with the exclusion of Breath of Judah, has
Breath of Judah left the group as well and if so can you
please tell us why if you know?
Atun Sen Geb:
As far as I know he’s still a part of us. He just has some
personal things to attend to for now. He’s good though!
Wu-International: We hope you read the interview we
done last year with Amun, where he claimed he was cool with
most of the members of the group except for Rasul, was it a
group decision for him to leave?
Atun Sen Geb:
Well it’s my
understanding that Amun removed himself from the group.
|
Wu-International: What’s your current relationship
with Amun then and what are your views to some of the claims
he made such as his departure hindering the release of
Zeitgeist by Babygrande records?
Atun
Sen Geb: Amun and I don’t have any relationship now,
though I would like to speak to him, but he hasn’t answered
any of my emails and I don’t have his math to call him. He
came around while we were recording the Zeitgeist and he was
supposed to get on a few tracks. I thought this was big of
Rasul to allow him back into the circle after such a heated
debate. However, Amun had a real issue with the fact that we
were recording in a studio provided by a Caucasian. This was
his opinion which he could have kept to himself if he wanted
to really be on the album. So he let his own hang-ups keep
him from being involved. I think we need to all get together
in a cypha and handle it Ol’ Skool style and battle! We’ll
see then who’s still standing; and I bet the Caucasian
murders Amun! I know I will.... But it’s all brotherly love!
|
 |
Wu-International: Speaking of group structures, how
do you get on with Lex Starwind and Jon Murdock?
Atun Sen Geb:
Yea we gets
it in! We just recorded a new joint called 4 corners which
will be released soon along with a video.
Wu-International:
Can anyone bring in a new
member to become part of LCOB or do they have to go through
a process of acceptance from someone or the group just as a
Wu Killa Bee would have to go through RZA for instance to
become official?
Atun Sen Geb: I mean you know if some possesses
the ability and skill and they naturally mix
with the whole pot of brew we concocting
they’ll eventually be invited in as a guest
and then possibly an affiliate member.
Wu-International: Cosmic Crusader pointed out
that LCOB is not confined to fixed group members;
meaning the structure will probably keep changing
from time to time, as opposed to say a group like
Wu-Tang with 8 generals or A Tribe Called Quest with
3 members, wouldn’t that make LCOB rather a name, a
brand as opposed to a rap group with core members?
Atun Sen Geb: In fact it’s both a band
and a brand. In the hip hop world you may have both
because you always start from a single point, and
then you expand out from there. So you have Rasul
Allahu as running the point and then we all expand
out from his idea into further manifestations. What
we all create will be a product created by the brand
LCOB.
Wu-International: So does it mean LCOB will
one day have a female MC in their mist if need be?
Atun Sen Geb: We’ve had a few female MC’s
appear on older albums but none have had a strong enough
anchor to stay, I guess. I don’t know when the universe will
send in that Jedi of the female persuasion. I know sometimes
they can be intimidated by our level of wizardry. Or maybe
it’s just not the right timing. In warfare a lot of times
the men have to organize themselves first and be stabilized
enough to provide enough protection for the women and
children. So I think eventually we will see a female or
group of females enter the realm just as we have who will
rip shit up just like we do. The problem also is that we as
men have to be able to subdue our passions around the
females especially when we’re carrying out military orders
we can’t get caught up by the power U! However, if some of
us can harness that energy that a female LCOB knight would
generate, it would make LCOB that much more powerful!
Wu-International: Thanks for those answers,
LCOB were on the forefront of “spiritual hip-hop” but your
last album 911 pretty much strayed slightly away from that
formula, any particular reason for this?
Atun Sen Geb: When you’re dealing in
“Spirituality” you have to deal with all the chakras to
balance them. LCOB is holistic and therefore we have to deal
with All of the aspects of life. The 911 dealt more with the
first two chakras of the Root and Navel that’s why the cover
had the corresponding colours of the fire Red and Orange. So
we went more political. You can’t always deal with the
truths of the highest chakra or your head will explode! Or
you’ll go crazy or be bewildered; it’s happened to me
before. So we have to have balance.
Wu-International: So how does your new album
Zeitgeist compare to your last album 911 or the previous
ones in that reference?
Atun Sen Geb: The Zeitgeist is a mix of all
of them because we tried to pattern it after the Zeitgeist
documentary which dealt with the aspects of conspiracy in
Religion, Economics, 9/11, and the foundation our existence
including 2012. We also added in some topics that are more
prevalent in street life.
Wu-International: How many songs are on
Zeitgeist and what songs stand out for you on the album and
why?
Atun Sen Geb: I think there’s about 15-17
cuts. The title cut stands out to me because of how
everybody rides the Snowgoons’ beat. Then Martial Law gives
me chills when I hear it; it’s like Sul comes in with the
mantra “we livin under Martial Law...” then everybody just
paints a grim picture of that reality. Babylon AD is very
upbeat compared to past songs we’ve done and I love rhyming
over that tempo. The whole album is dope!
Wu-International: Cool, it seems you had or have an
album out “The Crop Circle R-eye-d” can you please tell us
more about this project, as in when it was released,
features and where fans can get hold of it from?
Atun Sen Geb: This project is more of a mixtape
for it doesn’t have the sound quality of an album. It was
something I had to do because I needed to put a project
together and put it out there. It features LCOB, Koncept
(RIP), Karl Kavorkian; and production from Gaseous Vapes,
Stretch, Rokwilder, and Odin Smith. The Crop Circle is the
name I came up with for my crew and it’s a double antondra.
Everybody knows what a crop circle is and I always thought
of my squad being of the alien type. Also it’s an acronym
for Cream of the Planet (CR.O.P.) which my team has always
been the Cream of the Earth, nahmean?!
Wu-International: Is this your first album or
only solo album out?
Atun Sen Geb:
That’s my first; about a
year later I came out with The Cold Sol which can be
purchased on my MySpace page for now. It’s a follow up
mixtape to Crop Circle which features DJ Soundboy on the 1 &
2’s.
Wu-International: Are you working on anything new as
far a solo or group projects go, if so please give us more
details about this?
Atun Sen Geb:
I have recorded
about 5 joints for my album which is untitled.
Wu-International: Thanks; is there anything else you
like to share that has not been covered already by us?
Atun Sen Geb: Thank you for taking the time out to
schedule this interview; you are a true blessing!
Wu-International: How and where can fans keep up to
date with Atun?
Atun Sen Geb:
I can be found on
the LCOB website, just click my name and it’ll take you to
my page.
Wu-International: Any last words, message to fans,
shout outs etc?
Atun Sen Geb:
Shout out to all
the fans, it’s been a long time but we finally back, reborn
to give you what you need! Peace to the Wu Tang Clan for
paving the way. Hotep to All my phamily and peoples, Black
and Nobel, Chief Abdul Muhammed, Atum RE is free, the
goddess Tawar who everything revolves around... to those who
hate, to hate me is to hate the hole in yourself! Wahid
