Interview

Ghostface Killah introduced the world to
his new group Theodore Unit with the compilation in 2004 "718".
The group is made up of a collection of like minded lyricists
and includes Trife Da God, Cappadonna, Solomon Childs, Kryme
Life, Shawn Wigs, Du-Lilz and Ghostface Killah himself. While
some of the members are well known, very little is known about
some of them, one in question is that Shawn Wigs. Now the die
hard Wu-Tang fans surely know about Shawn Wigs, as he has been
putting in work from the very beginning. Around 2001, with
members Lounge Mode, Crunch-Lo and Molly-Q as Othorized Fam,
Wigs blew the underground and internet scene with the now
unavailable classic group album "1st
Amendment", as put out by 1.4.0 Productions. This album has
remained to date one of the highly sort after online albums, and
even though it is heavily bootlegged, it sells up to $30 plus on
eBay. Shawn was later featured on a number of projects which
includes the 3 instalment albums from 1.4.0 Productions,
guest spots and mixtapes. Most notable guest appearances is his
feature on
Cappdonna's Iron Fist Pillage film and soundtrack, and later
going on to star as "Jay" on the movie "Slugger".
Wig appeals to anyone who gets in contact
with him on a first listen due to his unique style, delivery,
subject matter and lyrically skills, this is probably what
attracted Ghostface to him to get him involved with an all-star
line up of talents on the Theodore Project. After 718, it was
advertised that Wigs would be releasing a solo album "The 4
Letter Word". Since then nothing much has been heard of him
except for a spot on Ghostface's latest outing "Fishscale" on
the MF Doom produced track "Jellyfish". Anyone who have had the
pleasures of hearing "Poker Face" from Shawn Wigs
myspace page would agree that the song has got to be one of,
if not the hottest track not out right now. Wu-International was
alerted to this track some weeks back, and with questions
pouring in about what the man Wigs was up to, it was only right
we connected with the man himself for an exclusive interview,
which he gladly did for his fans, hear it directly from the
original Wigs and he breaks down the meaning of Wiganomics.
